I am Diana Rodgers, and I am an artist who draws with fabric and thread. My illustrations combine a few of my favorite things: sewing, color, texture, and anything that makes me feel nostalgic.
I studied studio arts at Mass Art, then earned a BFA at FIT before starting a varied creative career spanning 19 years (and counting), which has followed a path from fashion designer, to entrepreneur, to teacher. The ‘common thread’ among all my endeavors is sewing. I currently teach sewing to children and adults in NYC. When not teaching, I am in my studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn creating collections of illustrations in fabric, inspired by memories of my childhood. Nostalgia, or what makes me feel nostalgic, is my favorite subject because it inspires awesome engagement with the audience. I love when people can relate to my work, and share their own stories and experiences. I also just like making fun stuff.
