Cancer is the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S.

At current rates, 1 in 5 children diagnosed will ultimately die from the disease. But for survivors, the battle isn’t over: more than 95% live with significant long-term side effects — caused not only by cancer itself, but more often by the treatments meant to save them.

The truth is, most cancer treatments were never designed for children in the first place. In the last 30 years, less than 4% of FDA-approved treatments were designed specifically for kids. Instead, most young patients simply receive low-doses of adult drugs — even though their kids’ cancers are completely different than adult cancers.

But there is hope. By funding critical breakthrough research, we can create gentler, child-first treatments that help kids beat cancer, and still be kids.
