Every opportunity to raise funds in honor of Ben is deeply personal. We are grateful for every chance to support childhood cancer research and help create a future with better, safer treatments. Every fundraiser is a way to celebrate Ben’s journey, share his story and continue bringing hope to children and families facing childhood cancer.
Ben Austin was diagnosed at age 3 with stage 3 Wilms tumor, a form of childhood kidney cancer. He underwent chemotherapy, a nephrectomy and radiation at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Just three months after completing treatment, Ben relapsed with cancer in his lung, turning our world upside down once again. He endured an intensive regimen of high-dose chemotherapy and additional radiation before finally reaching remission.
Today, Ben is 13 years old and preparing to enter eighth grade in Easton, Pennsylvania. He is an honor roll student, plays the viola, is a dedicated soccer teammate and dreams of becoming a doctor one day.
Each year, we raise funds in honor of Ben and children like him with the support of our friends, family and community. Children deserve the chance to grow up. Over the past six years, we have raised more than $50,000 to fund childhood cancer research. It is our mission to continue helping children have the opportunity to recover and thrive. Cookies for Kids’ Cancer has helped make that shared vision possible.
