DIGITAL CONTENT COORDINATOR
Full-Time | Remote, U.S. | $50,000–$60,000
About the Role
Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is looking for a creative, highly organized Digital Content Coordinator to manage content across our social media, email marketing and blog.
This role will own the planning and execution of our digital content calendar — developing social media concepts, writing copy, managing email communications, coordinating creator and influencer partnerships and helping plan and write blog content that connects back to our larger campaigns and priorities.
We’re looking for someone who is both creative and exceptionally organized. Someone who naturally pays attention to what’s happening on social media, follows the organizations, brands and creators doing interesting work and brings new ideas to the table — but who can also turn those ideas into a thoughtful plan, work ahead and keep multiple projects moving at once.
This is a role for someone who can take direction and run with it. You should be comfortable making decisions independently, receiving and implementing feedback and speaking up when you have an idea or perspective that could make the work stronger.
The Digital Content Coordinator will report to the Marketing & Communications Manager and collaborate with the Graphic Design & Video Associate when visual and video content is needed to bring ideas to life.
What You’ll Do
Social Media & Content
- Own and maintain the organization’s social media content calendar across platforms
- Develop original social media ideas, concepts, campaigns and recurring content
- Write engaging social copy that is thoughtful, clear and true to our voice
- Turn broader campaign priorities, research, stories and organizational updates into social content people will actually want to read, watch and engage with
- Plan content well in advance while maintaining flexibility for timely opportunities and trends
- Stay current on social media trends, emerging formats, platform changes and what leading nonprofits, brands and creators are doing well
- Develop clear creative briefs that communicate the idea, objective, copy and visual direction needed for social content
- Collaborate with our Graphic Design & Video Associate to bring concepts and ideas to life
- Review content performance and use insights to inform future ideas and planning
Email Marketing
- Own and maintain the organization’s email marketing calendar
- Write emails supporting fundraising campaigns, events, organizational initiatives and other communications
- Coordinate email timing and messaging with the larger marketing and content calendar
- Think strategically about how email, social media, blog and website content can work together rather than treating each channel independently
- Review email performance and help identify opportunities to strengthen engagement
Blog & Editorial Content
- Plan, write and manage blog content throughout the year
- Identify opportunities for blog content based on campaigns, stories, research and organizational priorities
- Connect blog content to social media, email and other channels when appropriate
- Work with internal team members to gather the information needed to develop strong, accurate content
Creator & Influencer Partnerships
- Identify creators, influencers and community partners who could authentically help expand the organization’s reach
- Help build and maintain relationships with relevant creators and influencers
- Coordinate creator and influencer collaborations, including outreach, content needs, timelines and deliverables
- Look for organic opportunities to engage creators, public figures and other potential partners with a meaningful connection to our mission
- Incorporate creator partnerships into the larger content calendar and campaign strategy when appropriate
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field required
- Approximately 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in social media, digital marketing, communications, content marketing or a related field
- Hands-on experience managing social media accounts and content calendars for a brand, organization or company
- Excellent writing and editing skills with strong instincts for voice, storytelling and digital content
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Ability to plan ahead and manage multiple priorities, campaigns and deadlines simultaneously
- Someone who genuinely enjoys social media and naturally keeps up with trends, formats, conversations and emerging platforms
- A creative thinker who brings ideas to the table rather than waiting to be given every assignment
- Comfortable working independently, making decisions and taking ownership while also collaborating well with others
- Able to receive and incorporate feedback while also confidently communicating your own perspective and ideas
- Proficient using AI tools as part of a modern content workflow, including ChatGPT and/or Claude, while bringing the judgment and writing skills necessary to make the final work distinctly human
- Experience with email marketing platforms and content management systems is a plus
- Experience with influencer or creator partnerships, outreach or campaign coordination is a plus
- Nonprofit experience is helpful but not required
Benefits & What We Offer

- Health, dental and vision insurance
- Flexible Spending Account
- Health Reimbursement Account
- 401(k) with employer match
- Annual professional development budget
- A supportive remote work environment with reasonable flexibility for life outside of work

Our Hiring Process
We want our hiring process to give you a chance to learn about us while giving us an opportunity to understand how you think, create and work.
- Screening Interview
A first conversation to learn more about your experience, interests and what you’re looking for in your next role. - Short Content Exercise
Candidates moving forward will be asked to complete a short exercise designed to show us how you approach content development. The exercise should take no more than two hours. We do not expect or encourage candidates to spend additional time polishing it.
You’ll be given a topic relevant to our organization and asked to:
- Develop a social media post concept based on the topic
- Create a concise creative brief that could be handed to a graphic designer, clearly communicating the concept, objective and visual direction
- Develop one additional social media idea that you believe would be a strong fit for our brand and audience
We’re less interested in creating a “perfect” assignment than we are in seeing how you think, organize an idea, communicate creative direction and make decisions within a reasonable amount of time.
- Interview with the Hiring Manager
A conversation with the Marketing & Communications Manager to talk more deeply about the role, your experience, your approach to the work and your content exercise. - Final Interview
Finalists will meet with our Executive Director and Chief Revenue Officer before a hiring decision is made.
