I am the Digital Marketing Senior Coordinator at Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. In my role, I oversee content creation and manage all of our social media channels and email marketing. I write emails, develop designs and share stories from doctors, grassroots hosts and partners to spread awareness about our mission and organizational wins. In addition to those core responsibilities, I help maintain and update our website and support campaign content alongside the Brand & Creative Senior Coordinator.

I’ve always loved connecting with people, working on projects and being creative. When I was in college and exploring internships, marketing felt like a natural fit. What I enjoy most about it is the hands-on process of creating and then getting to connect with people in an engaging way. Whether it’s sharing a story, highlighting impact or connecting through a lighthearted reel, I love finding ways to make communication feel approachable and meaningful.

My mom has always worked in the nonprofit world and she’s had a big influence on me. She encouraged me to think about others, lead with empathy and contribute to something bigger than myself. I spent time in the for-profit world, but I started to feel like I wanted to use my skills in a way that created longer-term, meaningful impact. What drew me to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer was its financial transparency. If I was going to contribute my time and energy, I wanted to know the work was truly making a difference and that donors and grassroots hosts could clearly see how their support is being used.

The thing I enjoy most about working on the marketing team is how we collaborate. We function like pieces of a puzzle that fit perfectly together, valuing each other, the work we bring to the table and the belief that open communication can solve any problem. We support each other, stay honest and are not afraid to give feedback or step in when challenges come up. What stands out about the organization as a whole is how strong and committed everyone is and how clearly each person is in the right role. Our team is made up of people who truly believe in what we are doing and show up every day ready to support the mission in every way they can.

I’m the Brand & Creative Senior Coordinator here at Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. I lead the marketing and branding for our campaigns, events and programs from strategy through execution. I also manage our paid advertising efforts and have been recently focused on our website rebuild and brand evolution. You could say I have my hands in a lot of different cookie jars around here.

For me, marketing is really about communication and psychology. It’s figuring out how to present something in a way that captures people’s attention and inspires them to take action. I’ve always enjoyed the detective-work side of it — testing different approaches, looking at the results and using those insights to guide what comes next. What drew me to marketing is that there’s rarely a single right answer. Audiences change, platforms evolve and what works today might not work six months from now. It’s a field that constantly challenges you to learn, adapt and find new solutions, and I’ve always found that process incredibly rewarding.

I always knew I wanted to work in the nonprofit space because I wanted my time and skills to contribute to something meaningful and bigger than myself. Knowing that the work I do every day has the potential to directly impact and even change lives is incredibly rewarding. I also appreciate the culture that comes with nonprofit work. At least at Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, people are valued as more than just the numbers they produce. Results matter, of course, but there’s also a genuine investment in the people behind the work. That balance of pursuing meaningful impact while being part of a mission-driven, supportive team is something I really value.

Our marketing team is awesome. We’ve reached a point where I’d say we’re a pretty well-oiled machine. I love being part of a team that is so in sync and always looking ahead. We’re constantly thinking about what we can improve, what we should be planning for next and how we can make our work more effective. That mindset allows us to accomplish a lot, and it’s incredibly rewarding to work alongside people who are always pushing for better.

As an organization, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is truly different in the way we operate. The commitment to the mission is genuine, and so is the impact. Everyone here cares deeply about the cause and works hard to ensure every dollar is used as effectively as possible. Knowing that the work we do helps maximize funding for new, improved and less toxic treatments for kids fighting cancer makes every project feel meaningful.

I am the Marketing & Events Coordinator at Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. My role covers a lot of different areas of the organization, but from the marketing side I work on Pinterest, blogs, event marketing, public relations, influencer marketing and help out with campaign development. My day-to-day responsibilities change based on what’s going on within the organization.

What originally drew me to marketing was the psychological aspect of it. In college I loved learning about what motivates people, how they make decisions and what truly resonates with them. Marketing blends creativity with strategy, allowing me to use my problem solving skills and think outside the box. It’s fun to take an idea, bring it to life and see how people respond to it in a real way.

I’ve been involved in the nonprofit world for as long as I can remember, whether that meant attending fundraisers with my family or volunteering with friends. When I was looking for summer internships in college, I began with nonprofit opportunities, and that’s where I came across Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. Their story really stood out to me, especially seeing how the organization grew from what was meant to be a one-time fundraiser into something that has made such a meaningful difference. It is an honor to start my professional career with such an impactful organization.

The marketing team, and the organization as a whole, has a really collaborative culture where everyone genuinely wants to support one another. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, and people are always willing to step in, share ideas or offer guidance. It’s especially impressive to see this level of collaboration in a fully remote team, and it creates an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, learning from others and contributing in a meaningful way.

One of my favorite things I’ve worked on was our Cookies, Cocktails & Canapés fundraising event in my home base of Charlotte, NC. It was the first big thing I got involved in after joining the team full time and although it was a little daunting at first, it quickly became one of the most rewarding experiences and gave me confidence in my role.
