You Helped Make Nearly Half of All Pediatric Cancer-First Treatments Possible

Every two minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer somewhere in the world. In the time it takes to read this, one — or even more — children will begin a fight no one should ever face.

While adults have access to hundreds of cancer treatments, children are often left with far fewer options — and a much tougher fight. Only 44 cancer drugs have been approved for kids — and of those, just seven were developed with children as the first users vs adults. This scarcity of pediatric-focused treatments makes every breakthrough incredibly meaningful.

The Power of Your Support: Funding Groundbreaking Pediatric Treatments

Here’s where your generosity shines. Together, we helped fund research behind three of those seven treatments designed primarily and specifically for children. That means nearly half of all pediatric-first cancer therapies exist because supporters like you believed in the science.

Early stage research is the building blocks that breakthroughs are found — many promising ideas struggle to get off the ground without the right funding. Thanks to you, scientists were able to explore bold new ideas targeting the cancers that impact our most precious resource: children.

The Journey Continues: More Breakthroughs on the Horizon

Your impact isn’t stopping here. Four additional treatments we’ve helped fund are currently moving through the FDA approval process. These promising therapies could soon offer new hope to children facing cancers that previously had limited options.

How We Choose What to Fund

At Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, our expert Medical Advisory Board, comprised of leading pediatric oncologists, carefully reviews every grant application, using the same rigorous criteria as the National Cancer Institute uses. We are committed to funding only the strongest science with the highest potential to move quickly from the lab bench to a child’s bedside.

Together, We’re Changing the Future for Kids with Cancer

Because of YOU, treatments once thought impossible are becoming real, life-saving options for children fighting cancer every day. It’s a reminder that behind every new treatment, there’s a community of believers — people like you — who refuse to accept the status quo.

Every donation you make and every grassroots event you support fuels life-saving research. Together, we’re one step closer to more cures and better outcomes for children battling cancer.
