A flyer is a must-have for a successful fundraiser, as it gives people all the important details at a glance. Posting around neighborhoods, on local community sites and on your social media is one of the best ways to make sure your event gets noticed and helps turn neighbors into supporters. 

Canva is a free and user-friendly platform to help make this possible. Read our step-by-step guide on how to create a flyer for your next fundraiser!

Step 1: Create A Design

Log into Canva and click the “+” button to create a new design. In the search bar, type “flyer” to browse and choose from a variety of flyer layouts.

Step 2: Pick Your Layout

Canva offers a wide variety of free layouts and templates to choose from. Pick one that fits your style, or start from scratch if you prefer a custom look. Simply drag and drop templates or design elements onto your page to get started. 

Step 3: Add Your Details

Start filling in your flyer with key details about your fundraiser. Be sure to choose a font and text color that’s easy to read. 

Step 4: Add A QR Code Linking to Your Fundraising Page

Create a QR Code in Canva (It’s Easy!)

Canva has a built-in tool that lets you turn any link into a QR code in just a few clicks. Open your design, head to the left-hand sidebar and scroll down to QR Code. Paste your link, click Generate Code and your QR code will appear right on your design. From there, you can resize it and place it anywhere on your flyer.

Step 5: Customize With Any Additional Elements of Your Choosing

Use the Elements tab to search for shapes, icons, graphics or photos to add to your flyer. If you want to use your own images, click Uploads. From there, you can upload photos directly from your computer or drag and drop them right into your design.

Step 6: Download Your File

1. Start the Download: Head to the Share button in the upper right corner of your page and click Download.

2. Choose Your File Type: In the pop-up, select your format based on how you’ll use it — choose PNG for digital flyers (social media/email) or PDF Print if you plan to print them out.

3. Save and Finish: Press the purple Download bar and voila! You’ve successfully                made your event flyer.
