What is a Tough Cookie?
At Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, we often talk about Tough Cookies — but what does that really mean?
A Tough Cookie is our way of honoring incredible kids with incredible stories.
When we call a child a Tough Cookie, we’re celebrating more than their strength during treatment. We’re recognizing their laughter during hospital stays, their ability to bring joy in moments of uncertainty and their strength as they go through treatment.
Every Tough Cookie is the reason we do what we do. They are at the heart of our mission — to fund research for safer, more effective pediatric cancer treatments.
Meet Some of Our Newest Tough Cookies

Whether he's swimming, snuggling animals, or digging into a bowl of mac & cheese, Austin reminds us that love and laughter really can get you through anything.

🍪 Anmarie’s Secret Stash Cookies
Anmarie was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, and her journey through treatments, hospital visits, and uncertainty has been anything but easy. Her story is a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there’s still light.
🍪 Rowan’s ‘Think Positive’ Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookies
Rowan was diagnosed with a low-grade glioma in April 2023 at just seven years old. Her tumor, located in the brain stem, can’t be removed and makes things like balance and coordination especially tough — but Rowan shows up every day with grit and grace. She loves playing basketball, spending time with friends, and shining on stage in school plays. Through the fear and uncertainty, Rowan stays positive and focused on what makes her smile.
Each story fuels our fight, with 100% of the proceeds supporting research at the nation's leading pediatric cancer centers.
