2024 Year in Review: Our Mission and Vision in Action at Cookies for Kids' Cancer
As we reflect on 2024, we're filled with gratitude for the incredible impact our community has made in the lives of children battling cancer. Together, we've made strides in funding vital pediatric cancer research and supporting families facing this challenging journey.
Join us as we recap some highlights of this momentous year, celebrate our collective achievements, and together look forward to a future where no family is ever told, “We have run out of options.”
Global Support
It began with a cookie but it has grown way beyond. We support almost any idea inspired by your passion and desire to help. From bake sales to birthdays, service projects to athletic events, we’re here to help in whatever way inspires you. Whatever moves you to make an impact. This year, supporters like you hosted nearly 1,000 (yes, ONE THOUSAND) bake sales and grassroots events nationwide! That brings us to over 18,000 events organized and hosted around the world. What a sweet way to remember 2024!
The Business of Sweet Success
No matter the size, businesses and corporations are powerful sources of support for childhood cancer research. A small local business can bring a community together with a bake sale, while corporate partnerships can inspire consumers nationwide to raise pediatric cancer awareness and critically needed funds. We are grateful to the business and corporations this year that not only chose us as their holiday gift that gives back option but also gave so much through business engagement, fundraising matches and more! And let’s not forget company packing days where thousands of cookies were packaged by amazing employees and sent to good cookies hosting bake sales all across the country!
Kids Helping Kids
We have so many ways for kids to participate and lead in funding new, improved and less toxic treatments for pediatric cancer — from local kid-hosted bake sales to dodgeball tournaments to crazy hat days at school. We put the fun in fundraising and make philanthropy accessible for all. 2024 saw us blown away yet again by kids across the nation who stepped up with heart and endless joyful smiles.
Good Cookie Challenge Accepted!
We are SO thankful for all the Good Cookies who participated in our 2024 Good Cookie Challenge, supporters from coast to coast! This year, we had the largest group of participants EVER in the challenge’s history, making it our most successful year. Thank you to everyone who accepted the challenge to give hope and get moving this year!
Honoring Tough Cookies
This year we added several Tough Cookies to our list of kids who inspire us. When you send Tough Cookies, 100% of the proceeds help to fund hope for these very kids and their families. Tough Cookies like Joey … When Joey discovered our organization, he felt an instant connection with one of our Tough Cookies, who shares the same name and favorite cookie! Joey and his family chose the "Team Joey Chocolate Chunky Chip Cookies" from our Tough Cookie collection as takeaways for his Bar Mitzvah—a sweet and meaningful way to raise awareness and fund pediatric cancer research.
Higher Ed Takes the Lead in the Fight Against Kids' Cancer
Spearheaded by C4KC Development Coordinator, Emily … this year’s inaugural Good Cookie Campus Challenge saw TEN universities around the country get involved, raising nearly $7,000 towards critical childhood cancer research. Not only did every dollar raised by students' efforts count, OXO matched all funds, doubling their impact!

At Cookies for Kids' Cancer, fostering a positive culture to enact change is at the core of everything we do. This year we welcomed four new team members whose contribution and efforts just months later have been immeasurable! The smiles speak for themselves …
We are grateful to all four for all they do to ensure we are always raising the bar within our organization - together we are making significant strides raising funds for research to develop new, improved and less toxic treatments for pediatric cancer — the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S.

NYC, Charlotte and Beyond
Our annual Chefs for Kids’ Cancer event in NYC was a resounding success again this year as was the first annual Cookies, Cocktails & Canapés in Charlotte, North Carolina. We are always blown away by the hearts of celebrated chefs, pastry chefs, artists and supporters to raise money for pediatric cancer research. And shout out to the beyond fabulous Charlotte City-Wide bake sale - year after year, an inspired community event transcending city limits organized by our own Organizer of Community Outreach, Amy Christenbury! These events continue to inspire others to recreate similar experiences in cities across the nation. Contact us at info@beagoodcookie.org to discuss how you too can get involved this way locally!
Grant Preview
Our grant-making process is what sets us apart. We remain on track to grant an additional $700,000 to 2023 recipients in addition to $1.4 Million in new grants at our top-tier partner centers across the nation. Also, Since 2012, we have granted nearly $4 Million to the Pediatric Early Phase Clinical Trial Network (PEP-CTN). We match dollar for dollar the funding the National Cancer Institute (NCI) provides for every child enrolled at the 21 participating centers which are located across the country. For seven years of our funding, we actually doubled the amount the NCI funds. This year will see us granting an additional $224,000, reaching 64 kids in need across 21 hospitals nationwide!
