Isaac
Isaac was diagnosed with JMML (Juvenile Myleomonocytic Leukemia) at the age of four, two days before Christmas. It took doctors three months to figure out what was wrong with him. We always wonder if he would have had a chance if they could have diagnosed him earlier so he could get his transplant before he got so "sick." The only treatment for JMML is a bone marrow transplant. Isaac got very, very sick with pneumonia the day after Christmas. He spent the rest of his life in the hospital. He had his transplant on February 22, and died nine days later, and just nine days before his 5th birthday. It all happened so fast, but maybe that was good, because he suffered terribly. Isaac was always such a joyful, sweet little boy, and we miss him so very much. But God is good, all the time.
Raising awareness and money for childhood cancer is vital. We are so proud of our daughter Emily, who after hosting her first bake sale for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer with her friends, added her birthday money to the donations.
