Taylor
Taylor loves traveling with her family and coming home to her dog who is ALWAYS happy to see her. Her tough cookie journey is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of medical research. Diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of 18 months, Taylor faced her difficult battle against cancer with courage and determination. The treatments, while effective, came with a heavy price, leading to a secondary diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndrome ('MDS') at the age of five. Taylor required a bone marrow transplant and was fortunate to be matched to a donor whose donation saved her life. For two-thirds of childhood cancer survivors, late term effects are the reality, and Taylor is not exempt from the toxic repercussions of her treatment; kidney failure, endocrine abnormalities and jaw reconstruction have and will continue to be challenges she will navigate moving forward. In spite of it all, she considers herself 'one of the lucky ones.' As an advocate for other kids and teens facing cancer, Taylor's main goal in life now?...to spread hope to those in need.
