Joey
Joey, a kind-hearted, well-loved, eight year-old who loves dribbling the ball down the soccer field or sending a baseball flying over the fence, was diagnosed Burkitt’s Leukemia on July 4, 2014 at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Burkitt’s Leukemia is a very rare, aggressive cancer. The treatment for Joey consists of a rigorous journey of chemotherapy, bone marrow biopsies, intralumbar punctures, and spinal taps. Joey spends time as an inpatient at CHOP for treatment every three weeks for a weeklong course of chemo and makes weekly visits to the CHOP Day Clinic. Joey will continue with these procedures for approximately the seven months. Joey, along with his parents, Bill & Maria, and his big sister Gianna, are tackling this diagnosis head-on and very much appreciate the support of Good Cookies everywhere who are focused on finding a cure.
