    Artem Orlovskyy

    Executive Chef, Lincoln Ristorante

Artem Orlovskyy, from Odessa, Ukraine, currently serves as the Executive Chef at Lincoln Ristorante in New York City. Born in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, Artem left his hometown at the age of fourteen when he and his mother moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas, in pursuit of better opportunities.

Artem's passion for cooking developed at a young age, influenced by his great grandmother who was a skilled home cook. Watching her navigate the local market and seeing how she prepared delicious meals sparked his interest in the culinary world. His passion grew when a cook gave him The French Laundry Cookbook, inspiring him to pursue a career in the culinary arts.

With more than a decade of experience, Artem has worked with renowned chefs and restaurants in the industry. He started at Lincoln Ristorante as an extern under Jonathan Benno and worked alongside him for three years, gaining valuable knowledge and honing his skills. When Jonathan Benno left to open his own restaurant, Artem continued to work at Lincoln Ristorante and was eventually promoted to a sous chef under Shea Gallante.

Throughout his career, Artem has had the opportunity to work with accomplished culinary figures, including Richard Capizzi. These mentors have greatly influenced his professional growth and development. Additionally, he draws inspiration from influential figures such as Antony Bourdain, whose work put New York City on Artem's culinary map.

Artem's creative process is influenced by seasons, conversations with purveyors, and his continuous exploration of different regions in Italy. His goal is to create culinary experiences that not only delight the palate but also connect diners to the ingredients and traditions.

In his current role as Executive Chef at Lincoln Ristorante, a position he attained in June 2023, Artem oversees the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. He is known for his ability to teach and guide aspiring cooks, helping them become more efficient and skilled in the kitchen. Artem finds immense joy and fulfillment when he sees his team master their stations and thrive in their roles.

Outside of the kitchen, Artem cherishes spending time with his family, including his wife Elizabeth and their son Maximillian. When he's not working, you'll likely find him enjoying quality time with his loved ones.

Artem's passion for cooking and commitment to his craft is unwavering. As he continues to evolve as a chef, he upholds his five guiding attributes: taking his work seriously, aspiring for improvement, maintaining cleanliness, leading by example, and nurturing a deep passion for his work. Cooking is not just a profession for Artem – it is a way to bring joy and happiness to others through food and hospitality.
