Matthew Siciliano
Culinary Instructor, Rockland Community College
A native of Rochester, NY, Matthew worked in restaurants throughout high school and college. After graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, he found his passion working the pastry station during a summer job in Montauk, NY. He enrolled in The Culinary Institute of America, graduating with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts followed by a year working as a teaching assistant at one of The CIA's student run restaurants. After leaving The CIA, he worked in NYC at Bouchon Bakery, Per Se, and Eleven Madison Park. He later served as Pastry Chef at Michael Mina restaurant in San Francisco. Then, helped open SingleThread Farms in Healdsburg, CA as Head Pastry Chef. He believes strongly in culinary education and credits the strong influence and teaching early in his career for his growth and continued inspiration. Currently, Matthew is working as a culinary instructor at Rockland Community College in Nyack, NY where he works to provide his students the benefits and opportunity he received early in his career.
